  • Join us in congratulating our CEO, Charles Henry, on receiving the Charles N. Reilley Award! 🎉 This award honors scientists who have made significant advances in the field of electroanalytical chemistry. His decades of work in electrochemical detection have helped advance technologies that make sophisticated biosensing more accessible. At Burst Diagnostics, we are proud to build on that scientific foundation as we develop our rapid point-of-need testing platform, CaDI.

This week, I had the true honor of receiving the Charles N. Reilly award from the Society of Electroanalytical Chemistry. It was truly humbling. It was also a great opportunity to reflect on all of the amazing people, including students, postdocs, visiting scholars, and collaborators I've had a chance to work with throughout the year. I've been blessed by those around me and none of this would be possible without them.

  • If you have ever run an ELISA, you may understand the tradeoff between performance and workflow. ELISA is the gold standard for sensitive, quantitative protein detection. The workflow, however, can be resource-intensive, requiring multiple incubation and wash steps, manual reagent additions, several hours, and laboratory infrastructure. This format often limits how and where these assays can be deployed. In our latest blog post, we break down how the capillary-driven immunoassay (CaDI) platform reimagines the ELISA workflow in a fully automated cartridge format, delivering 10-minute quantitative results. Same core immunochemistry. Simpler execution. For organizations developing new assays or modernizing existing ones, CaDI offers a practical path to bring ELISA-level performance into rapid, point-of-need formats. • As we enter 2026, we are reflecting on a period of significant growth and progress at Burst Diagnostics. This video looks back at our journey from 2022 to 2025, highlighting the evolution of our spaces and the progress behind them. Since 2022, we have built and refined our CaDI platform through intentional product development, new partnerships, and a growing team. Over the past year, we: 🖥️ Developed a new reader and software 📈 Launched an open fundraising round 💲 Secured new NIH funding 🧪 Advanced new custom assays for OEM partners Each milestone represents meaningful progress toward delivering faster, more accessible diagnostics at the point of need. We are grateful for the partners, collaborators, and team members who helped make this progress possible, and we are excited to build on this momentum in the year ahead. Happy New Year from all of us at Burst Diagnostics!

  • We're excited to announce that Burst Diagnostics and FemmeLoop have been awarded an NIH Phase I SBIR grant to develop a quantitative at-home hormone test that will improve how perimenopause is monitored and understood. By removing the barriers of lab-based testing, we’re advancing a future where hormone tracking is simple, accessible, and affordable. Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/gY4V7ZK9

We finished up our summer 2025 internship program this week by showcasing the work of an outstanding group of interns! Over the past few months, they’ve contributed to projects ranging from assay optimization and microfluidic design to software development, accelerating progress for both Burst Diagnostics and our partners. Some will be staying on, others are headed to their next chapters, but all leave with our thanks and a CaDI-themed trophy to prove they conquered a summer at Burst Diagnostics. 🏆

  • A common misconception: if it looks like a lateral flow assay, it works like one. We designed CaDI to challenge that assumption by overcoming the sensitivity limitations of traditional lateral flow assays, without sacrificing the simplicity and rapid turnaround that make them useful. Learn how CaDI combines automated flow, signal amplification, and chemiluminescent detection to deliver rapid, quantitative results at the point-of-need and support the custom assay solutions we provide.
