The number of Canadians working multiple jobs continues to climb, and the trend line indicates we may hit a new all-time high again soon. It's a sign of real economic pain. 🇨🇦 Canada’s trust in immigration is dropping. As of 2024, 58% of Canadians say Canada accepts “too many” immigrants – a sharp 17-point rise in just two years, and the first clear majority in 25 years. It’s not just perception: In 2001, ~75% of permanent residents became citizens within ten years. By 2021, that had fallen to just 45.7% – a staggering 40% decline. Yet when immigrants fully commit to Canada, they become extraordinary contributors. As of 2022, immigrant-majority-owned businesses account for ~21.7% of all private businesses in Canada, and immigrants out-entrepreneur 3rd-gen+ Canadians. We’re in dire need of immigration reforms to better serve all Canadians. Our proposal reflects a continued scoring system for TRs & PRs not just before they arrive in Canada, but once they’re here.
