IoT-Enabled AI Construction Risk Intelligence | Protecting Projects: Pre-Construction Through Post-Occupancy

About us

Construction risk usually gets caught after it's already expensive: a burst pipe, a cracked slab, a claim nobody saw coming. Brickeye catches it before that happens. We're the IoT and AI platform that owners, developers, contractors, and insurers trust to protect project margins, keep schedules on track, and lower insurance costs, by putting risk in view before, during, and after construction. That means de-risking the plan before ground breaks, real-time alerts and automated controls while crews are on site, and actionable data once the building is occupied. Recognized as a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 company and Globe and Mail Top Growing Company, Brickeye is building the first AI-native IoT-enabled construction risk intelligence platform. Our technology now operates on more than 5,500+ construction projects in 20+ countries.

  • A Canadian Prime Minister hadn't set foot in Saudi Arabia in 26 years. That changed on July 9th, and Brickeye had a seat in the room for it. Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit came after a year of Canadian ministers making the same trip: foreign affairs, international trade, artificial intelligence, energy. Each one laying groundwork for something bigger. This forum in Jeddah is where that groundwork turned into signatures, including ours. For years, Brickeye's LumiCon Concrete De-Risking Platform has been quietly protecting some of the Kingdom's biggest builds, catching concrete risks on site before they turn into defects worth millions and delays worth months. That track record is what made this agreement possible. Tim Angus, our CEO, and Dr. Ahmad Basalah, founder of TechSense Electronics, signed a manufacturing and licensing agreement on stage to build Brickeye's IoT sensing hardware inside the Kingdom. Vision 2030 gets talked about in speeches. Last week it got talked about in a signing room, in front of the people who make it real. • For the past five years, Brickeye's LumiCon Concrete De-Risking Platform has been at work across many of Saudi Arabia's most ambitious construction projects, catching hidden concrete risks before they turn into millions in defects and months of delay. This week in Jeddah, that work took a new shape. At the Saudi-Canada Business and Investment Forum, Brickeye and TechSense Electronics signed a technology licensing and manufacturing agreement to produce our IoT sensing hardware inside the Kingdom. Canadian technology, localized in Saudi Arabia, protecting the infrastructure being built across the region. The forum brought senior leaders from both countries together to deepen Canada-Saudi trade and investment, part of the Canadian Prime Minister's mission to the Kingdom. Our CEO Tim Angus and Dr. Ahmad Ali Basalah, founder of TechSense Electronics, both had the honour of formalizing this agreement on stage with Prime Minister Mark Carney and several high ranking government Ministers from both Saudi Arabia and Canada. This is what Vision 2030 looks like in practice: transferring technology, building local industry, and creating skilled jobs on both sides. The Ministry of Investment convened the forum, and TechSense's facility will become Brickeye's regional manufacturing and support hub. None of this happens without the people who build it. Thank you to the Brickeye team for the years of work behind this moment. Thank you to the Canadian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and Trade Commissioner Services (TCS) whose team brought this opportunity to us, to Dr. Basalah and the team at TechSense Electronics, and to the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Investment for the recognition. • The best view in Toronto comes with a hard hat. Isabella Levi Delaney and Alena Sheina, at the top of the city's tallest tower this week. Skyline everywhere you look, cranes still turning. A skyline is never finished. Every tower out there is thousands of decisions about water, concrete, and risk. That's the part we care about. Brickeye is here to make building at this scale safer and smarter, so the towers going up are protected from avoidable loss. Every one of these towers is somebody's landmark. We're here to safeguard the ones still going up. #buildingthefuture #riskintelligence #constructionrisk #torontoskyline

Fisher Island, Miami. 216 acres. The wealthiest zip code in the US. Related Group is building Six Fisher Island there — 50 ultra-luxury residences on the last buildable site on the island. Units start at $15.5 million. Isabella Levi Delaney, Hamid Alemohammad, PhD, PEng, and Christopher Gil from Brickeye had a site visit to meet Javier Cabarrocas from Related Group last week. They walked the project, worked through protection scope, got a real read on site conditions. Temporary water, elevator pits, domestic water distribution, sprinkler supply. Brickeye’s IoT-enabled construction risk intelligence platform monitors all of it in real time, detecting abnormal flow and leaks before they turn into damage, delays, or a claim. We protect high-value construction. Learn more at brickeye.com. #SixFisherIsland #LuxuryConstruction #ConstructionRisk #WaterRiskMitigation

    • Brickeye team in front of one of our projects, 6 Fisher Island.
  • Bryan Gottlieb at Engineering News-Record covered the shift happening in Builders' Risk underwriting today. We're part of it. Construction's safest builders have had no structured way to earn better Builder's Risk terms for the loss-prevention technology they already deploy. Brickeye and Shepherd are the first to change that. Builders who de-risk their projects with Brickeye receive a Certificate of Protection, a verified tiered classification based on the IoT-enabled risk controls deployed in preconstruction. That classification earns better terms through Shepherd Savings: premium credits or lower deductibles. This is what we've been building toward. We're proud to be part of it. https://lnkd.in/dB_ZmahJ #BuildersRisk #ConstructionInsurance #InsurTech #ConstructionRisk #WaterMitigation #ConcreteDefects

  • We're excited to welcome Alena Sheina to the Brickeye team as our 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠! This is a milestone hire for us. Alena steps in as Brickeye's first dedicated senior marketing leader, and we couldn't have found a better person for the role. Alena spent 11+ years driving brand, pipeline, and growth at B2B SaaS companies. Along the way, she founded and scaled her own construction-focused digital marketing agency, serving clients who build the kind of projects Brickeye protects. She knows this industry because she built a business in it, not as a consultant looking in from the outside. She also doesn't stop at strategy. She builds websites from scratch, architects AI marketing systems and dashboards, and owns the messaging from strategy down to the final line. That hands-on depth, paired with real AI fluency, is rare at the senior level, and it's exactly what we were looking for. In her new role, Alena will build and lead our full marketing engine: brand positioning, demand generation, content strategy, paid media, PR, events, and GTM alignment with sales teams, all tied together with AI automation. We're building the first 𝐀𝐈-𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐨𝐓-𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 platform. Now we have someone who can tell that story the way it deserves to be told. Welcome aboard, Alena! 🎉 We’re still growing, see our open roles: https://lnkd.in/ewKyHJHt #WelcomeToTheTeam #Brickeye #ConstructionTech #Insurtech #AIMarketing #NewHire #WomenInConstruction
