📢 Strengthening Europe’s Cyber Resilience The European Commission’s latest proposal to amend the NIS 2 Directive (COM(2026) 13 final) is a step forward in simplifying cybersecurity compliance and fortifying Europe’s digital infrastructure. What are the changes? ▪️ Simplified Compliance: The introduction of small mid-cap enterprise categories and certification will make it easier for businesses especially SMEs to meet regulatory demands. ▪️ Cross-Border Collaboration: With ENISA taking a more active role in supervising multi-country entities, we’re finally seeing the EU address the fragmented supervision. ▪️ Future-Ready Security: The push for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) migration by 2030 isn’t just forward-thinking, it’s necessary. As cyber threats evolve, so must our defenses. ▪️ Ransomware: Harmonized reporting on ransomware attacks will give authorities the data they need to disrupt cybercriminal networks and protect businesses from extortion. Working in cybersecurity, I’ve seen firsthand how complex and costly compliance can be, especially for smaller organizations. This update is going for balancing robust security with practical and business-friendly measures. The focus on reducing administrative burdens while strengthening resilience is exactly what the EU needs to stay competitive in a rapidly changing digital landscape. What is your take?
