The theme at #ACE26 was superheroes. But after four days on the Innovation Hub floor, our own Chris Rodriguez came away with a different takeaway. The engineers, capital planners, and finance managers he talked to weren't looking for a hero to swoop in. They were looking for clarity — a defensible answer to the question that keeps every utility director up at night: which pipe breaks next? Most replacement decisions today still lean on break history, pipe age, and material — a record of the past, not a map of the future. And in systems with hundreds of miles of pipe that have never broken, that gap is where preventable emergencies live. Chris writes about what he heard from the floor — the budget conversations, the "Dig Once" coordination opportunities, and why predictive risk modeling isn't a technology expense, it's coordination infrastructure. The future of water infrastructure will be built on better data, smarter decisions, and continuous innovation. We were proud to see BlueConduit Co-Founder & CEO Eric Schwartz share his perspective at the American Water Works Association ACE26 Innovation Hub, joining industry leaders to discuss the current state of the water sector, where it's headed, and how technology can help utilities address increasingly complex challenges. The conversation explored critical topics including: 💧 Network Monitoring & System Performance 🛡️ Risk & Resilience 🔧 Asset Health & Resource Protection 📊 Data-Driven Decision Intelligence As utilities face aging infrastructure, regulatory pressures, and limited resources, data-driven decision making is becoming essential to prioritizing investments, reduce risk, and improve outcomes for communities. Thank you to AWWA ACE26 for creating a forum that brings together innovators and utility leaders to share ideas and shape the future of the industry. #AWWAACE26 #WaterInfrastructure #Innovation #DataDriven #AssetManagement #RiskManagement #WaterUtilities #DigitalTransformation

November 1, 2027 might sound far away. It’s not. That’s the next major LCRI compliance milestone—and by then utilities must submit a finalized baseline inventory and start their replacement program. One big factor that could shape how difficult that becomes? Unknown service lines. Our latest blog breaks down what utilities should be preparing for now. Lead pipes are back in the national spotlight. As this AP News article highlights, replacing lead service lines across the U.S. is a massive undertaking—but one challenge remains: many utilities still don’t know exactly where those pipes are. That’s where data and predictive modeling make a difference. BlueConduit helps communities identify likely lead service lines so they can prioritize replacements and move faster toward safer drinking water. 👉 https://hubs.li/Q044rGxc0 #GetTheLeadOut #LeadServiceLines #WaterInfrastructure

What happens when lead shows up where you didn’t expect it? Finding lead during a randomized inspection doesn’t automatically invalidate your analysis—or your compliance strategy. When statistical methods are designed correctly, they’re built to handle uncertainty, not avoid it. This post breaks down how confidence intervals, upper bounds, and “low-lead” analyses work under #LCRI—and what utilities should do when unexpected findings occur. Predictive modeling isn’t about replacing experience—it’s about reinforcing it. By layering historical records, parcel data, and targeted field investigations, utilities can reduce uncertainty, focus resources where they matter most, and defend decisions with confidence. This blog looks at how predictive modeling supports utility teams under regulatory pressure, while keeping human expertise front and center. 👉 Read the blog: https://hubs.li/Q03-SZl20 #WaterInfrastructure #WaterIndustry #PredictiveModeling
