Excited to share a piece I co-authored with Sohaila Mali for the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) on how startups, primes, investors and government can work together more effectively to strengthen the defense industrial base. https://lnkd.in/euZFh6uS The core argument is one I have come to believe deeply — complementary roles, not competing ones. The most meaningful progress happens through deliberate partnerships that turn capital and ambition into operational capability. Two collaborations from our ventures portfolio anchor the piece: our work with Vishaal Mali and Salient Motion on software-enabled actuation systems, and with Matt Trevithick and Blank Slate Technologies on workforce development and knowledge retention. Both are early; both are exactly the kind of work I think is worth showing up for.
