Our office inhabits a reclaimed warehouse in Midtown Cleveland, while the associated practice, Bialosky New York, resides in a historic cast-iron building in SoHo. Bialosky is excited to announce the awardees of our 2026 Design for Good program! We’re honored to have received 13 responses from local impactful, meaningful, and community-driven organizations. We are happy to announce that we will be partnering with two organizations for our 2026 initiative. We are excited to begin the process with The City Mission, to provide master planning services for their two campuses focused on support services for men and women to secure stable housing and obtain steady employment, and with Food Strong, to prepare a concept plan for the adaptive reuse of a historic church on their Superior Avenue Community Farm to position it as a community-centered hub for urban agriculture, education, and economic opportunity. Applications for the 2027 Design for Good partnership will open in February 2027.

More than a pavilion. A connection. It is an incredible honor to see this shared ambition transformed into reality. When the Lorain Port & Finance Authority approached robert maschke ARCHITECTS inc. to reimagine Black River Landing, Tom Brown challenged us to think beyond a waterfront structure. His vision was to strengthen the connection between the people of Lorain, Ohio and the Black River, and between downtown and the riverfront. Our role was to translate this ambition into a bold, modern amphitheater and civic gathering space that celebrates Lorain while creating a regional destination for generations to come. Architecture is always a collaborative endeavor, and this milestone is the result of an extraordinary partnership. I am proud to recognize my colleague, Jack Bialosky, Jr., FAIA and the team at Bialosky for their collaboration throughout this effort. robert maschke ARCHITECTS inc. | Bialosky was fortunate to work alongside an exceptional team of consultants who helped solve every structural, environmental, and aesthetic challenge along the way. We're excited for construction to start at the Fleet Branch of the Cleveland Public Library! Having also designed the landscape at the Noble Neighborhood Library in Cleveland Heights and the Toledo Lucas County Public Library, we have developed a specialized expertise in libraries, and look forward to bringing this special design to our home in Cleveland. The revitalized reading garden will have robust plantings and new fencing along its perimeter, fostering a sense of enclosure and respite. New furnishings will support areas for seating and smaller group gatherings. We look forward to seeing this project come to life and continuing to work with the Cleveland Public Library.
