Our Young Terrace Club came together to create a lemonade stand in loving memory of Mr. Henry and to support his family. Come out, show your support, and grab a cup of lemonade. Tomorrow is the last day, and they will be serving from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Christian for being named the 2026 Southeast Regional Youth of the Year Runner-Up! From the beginning of this journey, Christian has shown what it means to lead with heart, confidence, and purpose. He first stood out as our Southeast Virginia Youth of the Year, then went on to represent Virginia and Washington, D.C. at the regional level after advancing through a competitive process that included essays, interviews, public speaking and so much more. Along the way, he shared his powerful story of resilience, growth, and the life-changing support he found at Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia, inspiring everyone who heard him. We are so proud of you, Christian, and we cannot wait to see all that your bright future holds!

We are so grateful to the Scott Wicke Foundation and everyone involved in their annual golf tournament for their inspiring generosity and support of our Club members. This donation helps us continue creating opportunities, building strong futures, and serving young people in meaningful ways. We are proud of Christian, our VA/DC State Youth of the Year, for speaking about how meaningful investments like this help teens like him become the best versions of themselves.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mr.Henry, a beloved member of our organization and a true servant leader to others. For more than 30 years, Mr. Henry dedicated his life to helping others, serving as a steady and compassionate helping hand to Special Olympics and a valued part of Boys & Girls Clubs. His kindness, commitment, and lifelong service touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We are grateful for the years of impact, friendship, and unwavering dedication he gave so selflessly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and all who are mourning this loss.

Thank you to WHRO Public Media and Barbara Hamm Lee for having Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia on Another View this afternoon! We’re grateful for the opportunity to share how we’re changing lives and making a difference for local youth through outcome-driven Club experiences. It was an honor to highlight the impact of our work and to hear from Christian, the 2026 Virginia/DC Youth of the Year, whose story is a powerful example of what’s possible at BGCSEVA. Missed the conversation? Listen now at whro.org/anotherview (audio courtesy of WHRO).
