If you've completed your CSPO® and are thinking about taking the next step, who you learn with matters. Zia Malik is a Certified Scrum Trainer® and Certified Enterprise Coach who has been at the forefront of exploring how AI is changing Product Discovery and the role of the Product Owner. One of the biggest discussions from his recent Product Discovery with AI webinar wasn’t whether people are using AI. It was how they’re using it. If you joined the session, you’ll already have seen Zia’s approach in action. It’s an approach that comes through in the feedback from delegates on his ACSPO® courses too. Our next Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner® course with Zia runs 18–20 August 2026, live online. 🔗 Course details and registration in the comments. #ProductOwner #ACSPO #ScrumAlliance #Beliminal

A brilliant discussion in yesterday's Product Discovery with AI webinar. Zia Malik shares one of the key takeaways from the session in his post below. We'll be running the webinar again on 28 September, building on the questions and insights that came out of this week's event.
One thing stood out from our recent Beliminal Product Discovery with AI webinar. 🦾 Most people are using AI. 🤔 But they're not using it in the way many of us might expect. When we asked participants how they were currently using AI, the answers were overwhelmingly focused on: • Writing and refining documents • Creating user stories • Summarising information • Research • Workshop preparation • Training material creation Useful? Absolutely. But these are largely productivity use cases. At the same time, confidence levels were much lower than LinkedIn would have you believe. Many participants described themselves as: • Cautious • Still learning • Not good at prompting • Needing to verify results • Unsure of AI's limitations For me, this reinforces something I've been writing about for a while. 💡 Most people are using AI to create outputs faster. 💡 Very few are using it to improve their thinking. Perhaps that's the next step. Not AI as a productivity tool. AI as a thinking partner. What are you primarily using AI for today: productivity or thinking? Missed the webinar? We're running another session on 28 September and will be incorporating the feedback from this event, including going deeper into some of the questions and themes that emerged. #ProductDiscovery #ProductOwner #ProductManagement #ArtificialIntelligence #GenerativeAI #ProductThinking #Innovation

If everyone is busy all the time, when does the organisation have time to learn, improve or adapt? In this latest article for Business coaching magazine, Beliminal Partner Mark Summers challenges the fixation on utilisation and explores how a relentless focus on keeping people busy can create hidden costs for organisations. Well worth a read for anyone interested in the role leadership plays in creating adaptable organisations.
AI didn’t just speed up work. It exposed how slow our organizations already were. Teams can now generate more ideas, reports, and options than ever before. But more output does not automatically mean more impact. In many places, the opposite is happening: → More ideas to review → More decisions to make → More coordination to manage → More information to process The bottleneck has shifted. It’s no longer production. It’s sense-making. And that changes everything. Most organizations were designed to optimize utilization: keep people busy, keep work moving, keep capacity full. That works in manufacturing. But in knowledge work, full capacity often creates: • queues • context switching • slower decisions • less room for judgment So when AI lowers the cost of creating work, the volume of work expands. And if the system can’t absorb it, the organization doesn’t go faster. It goes noisier. The real advantage now belongs to the teams that can: → prioritize well → make decisions clearly → protect attention → turn information into action AI can increase our output. But only humans can give that output meaning. The future won’t be won by the busiest organizations. It will be won by the ones who know what matters. It's great to see so many Product Owners and Product Managers resonating with this topic. The response to this upcoming webinar has exceeded our expectations. It's clear that many Product Owners, Product Managers, and Product Leaders are asking similar questions: How do we use AI to improve our thinking, not replace it? What do Product Owners need to do to stay relevant in an AI-enabled world? How does AI fit into Product Discovery? We're looking forward to exploring these questions and more.
