Strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship across continents!
Today, we at the Bavarian University Center for Latin America, together with Bianca Niemann from FAU Founding & Entrepreneurship at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from ENFUSE (Entrepreneurship for Future and Sustainable Energy) of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil.
The ENFUSE delegation—Dr. Gabriela Byzynski Soares (Postdoctoral Researcher), Pietro Pizão Gonzalez (Doctoral Researcher), and Caroline Roxo (Communication Analyst, Inova UNICAMP)—introduced UNICAMP and presented the ENFUSE program. Established through a partnership between UNICAMP and Petrobras, ENFUSE is dedicated to fostering technology-based entrepreneurship and supporting the creation of deep-tech ventures that strengthen the innovation ecosystem in the energy sector. The initiative focuses on translating cutting-edge research into entrepreneurial opportunities while empowering researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovation professionals with the tools to develop high-impact ventures in areas such as renewable energy, hydrogen, and oil & gas.
Luise Freitag presented the activities, funding opportunities, and cooperation programmes of BAYLAT, highlighting the Bavarian higher education landscape and the Bavarian High-Tech Agenda. Bianca Niemann, Deputy Head of Startup Consulting & Entrepreneurship and Head of Startup Scouting at FAU Founding & Entrepreneurship, introduced FAU’s vibrant startup ecosystem, entrepreneurship programmes, consulting services, and funding opportunities for aspiring founders.
The exchange revealed many shared priorities between UNICAMP and FAU—from supporting research-based entrepreneurship to building strong innovation ecosystems. Together with BAYLAT, we look forward to strengthening this collaboration through networking, exchanging best practices, and developing joint online sessions in the future.
