On Saturday morning, members of BankVic's leadership team were freezin' for a reason, taking the plunge at the Law Enforcement Torch Run (Victoria) Polar Plunge at South Melbourne Surf Club. Braving the icy waters alongside hundreds of others from the police and emergency services community, our whole team is very proud to have supported LETR in raising over $88,000 for Special Olympics Victoria and Special Olympics Australia. Every dollar raised supports athletes with intellectual disability and/or autism to experience the life-changing power of sport. Through year-round training, competitions and community programs, Special Olympics Australia creates opportunities for athletes to build confidence, friendships, independence and pride. Being actively involved in our community is a special part of who we are, and we congratulate everyone who participated, donated, and helped make this a wonderful occasion for a fantastic cause. Tammy Kestle joined BankVic in 2000, when we were the Police Credit Co-op. Twenty-six years and many roles later, she remains one of the organisation's most experienced and versatile team members. "What I really like about working at BankVic is the strong sense of purpose and the focus on supporting our members, especially those in police, emergency services, and healthcare," she says. "It feels good being part of a member-owned organisation where the focus is on people rather than profit. For someone who values purpose, teamwork, variety, flexibility, and growth, it's a really rewarding place to build a career." If something doesn’t feel right, stop engaging. Don’t send money or personal information. There are real opportunities out there. But scammers are working just as hard to create fake ones. When a job looks effortless, fast and a little too perfect, it might not be a new role, but a scam. Read more 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g62Bijzm 📍Bookmark this to read later! BankVic

As Chair of the Board of Blue Light Victoria, I am proud to be supporting their Run Melbourne team on Sunday, 19 July, and raising funds to help them to reach this special milestone. With just a few weeks to go, I would love your support to help me make an even bigger impact. If you are able, please consider making a donation - every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Run Melbourne 2026 will certainly be a challenge, but it is nothing compared to the work Blue Light Victoria does every day to create positive connections and opportunities for young people. Your support helps Blue Light Victoria continue delivering practical, positive programs that build confidence, connection and brighter futures for young people. Thank you for helping us make a difference by investing in the next generation. https://lnkd.in/gHcgbNUT

Tax time, end of financial year sales, and the rush to get finances in order for a new financial year, create a predictable set of conditions that scammers plan for. You're expecting communications from your bank, your super fund, and the ATO. You're shopping more than usual. You're logging into accounts you may not have visited in months. Your guard is lower because the activity feels routine, and scammers know this. The lead-up to 30 June and the weeks immediately after are among the most active periods for financial fraud in Australia. Read our article that shows you what to watch out for, and what to do. https://lnkd.in/gPHQ2h4i #BankSafe #scamprevention #onlinesafety

BankVic is proud to announce it has become a participating lender in the Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme, opening up government-backed home ownership support to eligible members through their own bank. The Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme makes home ownership more achievable by helping eligible first home buyers purchase with a minimum 5% deposit, with a government guarantee. Single parents and legal guardians may be eligible with a minimum 2% deposit. There are no income caps, no waitlists, and eligible buyers can avoid the cost of Lenders Mortgage Insurance. CEO Anthony De Fazio said the milestone reflects what the organisation exists to do. "We are honoured to join the Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme as a participating lender. Home ownership is one of the most significant goals our members work toward, and being able to support them through this scheme is a genuine reflection of what BankVic is here to do. Our members serve their communities every day. Helping them get into their own home sooner is one of the most meaningful things we can offer in return." Chief Growth & Experience Officer Rachel Morley said BankVic's Home Loan Mentors are well placed to help members make the most of the Scheme. "Our Home Loan Mentors are already partnering alongside members at every stage of their home buying journey. As a participating lender, we can now bring the scheme directly into those conversations - helping members understand how it may combine with other supports they're eligible for. For members who have been saving and are close to taking their first step into home ownership, this has the potential to bring their plans forward in a meaningful way." Grace Devenson was recently announced as the winner of Victoria Police's People Development Command Advancing Women in Policing Award. Introduced in 2022, the award recognises the achievements of those who make a significant contribution towards advancing women in a policing environment. Grace has a critical and influential role at the Police Academy, where she is responsible for preparing recruits for the physical demands of general duties policing. As the sole female coach in the Physical Training Unit, Grace uses her experience as a female athlete and sports coach to inspire others, and consistently delivers a positive culture that extends broadly across the organisation. Grace challenges long-standing stereotypes about women’s physical capability, leads by example, and fosters a culture of respect and belief in women’s potential to succeed in frontline policing roles. Her impact extends beyond individual recruits, strengthening the future of a diverse, capable, and resilient policing workforce. Our Financial Wellbeing Program Manager Angela Martin, and Senior Relationship Manager Rebecca Attard, represented BankVic as the award's sponsor and presented Grace with her very well-deserved award. #BVcommunity
