15 shooting days. 411 TB of camera media. Editorial-ready in under 2 days, every day, delivered straight from Toronto to our client’s Avid NEXIS in Burbank. This is what our DIT and media management pipeline looks like when it’s dashed at full speed. I broke down the full workflow in my post below. 👇

Behind every finished episode of Television is a media pipeline nobody sees, until it breaks. On Season 1 of a new Unscripted Series for a major Streamer, it never did. Over 15 shooting days in Toronto, Atlas Digital ran full DIT and editorial prep for the production, then delivered everything directly to the client's Avid NEXIS in Burbank. The numbers: 411 TB of camera RAW and production audio.  1,184 camera cards processed.  4,497 clips managed.  3,125+ hours of footage.  45.5 TB on the single biggest shoot day.  Footage editorial-ready in less than 2 days. How we did it: → Every card checksum-verified and backed up to dual on-set NAS servers before it left set → Camera originals transcoded to MXF DNxHR LB with matching AAFs - zero extra prep for editorial → A full cloud copy of editorial media maintained as an additional recovery layer → Media pushed from Toronto to Burbank via our DataLift® platform, organized and ready to group. Same pipeline, every single day of the shoot: ingest, dual backups, proxies, AAFs, cloud protection, direct-to-NEXIS delivery. That consistency is what let assistant editors start syncing and grouping almost as soon as media hit the building. Gotta give credit to Matthew B Price, Atlas' CTO who designs these workflows based on our customers requirements. This is the kind of workflow engineering that doesn't make the credits but it's the difference between a production that runs smoothly and one that doesn't. #PostProduction #DIT #MediaManagement #AvidMediaComposer #ProductionWorkflow #Broadcast #FilmProduction #AtlasDigital

  • Atlas Digital had the privilege of providing production office space and editorial equipment for the team behind Jackass: Best and Last. Congrats to the entire team and everyone at Paramount on the premiere. And a special moment for our own Steven D Gatto, with his son Michael's song featured in the film.

Atlas Digital had the honor of hosting the production team as well as the post production staff at our Sherman Oaks location. It was nice chatting with Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jones an some of the other Jackass Stars in the hallway when I occasionally visited. But, the best part was last week my son Michael and I were invited to the premiere of Jackass Best and Last at the Paramount Studios Lot. It was a special moment for me first because I have know the "Jackass Family" for over 20 years and 2nd because Michael's song "Borrowed Happiness" was featured in the film where Johnny Knoxville almost gets killed by a Bull. Congrats to Michael and his band XCOMM and thanks to all my friends over at Jackass and Paramount.

A week at the Hollywood Professional Association Tech Retreat: wrapped. We kicked things off sponsoring the annual HPA golf tournament alongside AMD and AWS, then spent the next few days deep in the conversations shaping the future of our industry. A couple takeaways: Technology has always been part of Hollywood. AI is just the latest tool we're learning to adopt. The best results will come from professionals who pair technical skill with deep expertise in their field. The fundamentals still matter. Your craft still matters. The community showed up. This industry has an incredible group of people who genuinely believe that by working together, we'll navigate what's ahead. That energy was everywhere. Atlas has been helping our clients navigate technology and workflow evolution for nearly 25 years. We're here to help our clients turn change into opportunity. Thanks to Joyce JC Cataldo, Alicia Rock, and their teams for an incredible event. If you attended, what was your biggest takeaway? Drop it in the comments. #HPATechRetreat #AtlasDigital #MediaTech

  • Day 2 at the 2026 HPA Tech Retreat. As a first-time sponsor, being part of this event is exactly where Atlas needs to be. The conversations happening here about technology, workflow, and the future of M&E are exactly the ones Atlas was built for. We work with productions and post teams every day to help them navigate an industry that never stops evolving. Events like this remind us why that work matters and where it’s headed. Looking forward to bringing what we’ve learned back to our clients and helping them navigate what’s coming next. Still here through the end of the retreat. Come find us. Reach out to Lloyd Guillen, Jed Unrot or Dan Warner. #HPATechRetreat #AtlasDigital #MediaTech

  • Our COO Dan Warner is opening up about how Atlas actually works: the thinking behind the technology, not just the equipment list. He's been solving impossible post-production problems for 25+ years. If you're in production or post, this is worth following.

    View profile for Dan Warner

I'm going to try something here. Some of you who also follow me on Instagram and Facebook know that I am an open book when it comes to my life, my kids and my interests. Well, I figure its time to be an open book about Atlas and my insatiable appetite for technlology and production. I've been in post-production for over 25 years. Actually, I guess it's been about 34 years if you count the experience I got doing video production at my High School in West Nyack, NY and in College. In that time, I've taken hundreds of 3 AM phone calls. Solved countless "impossible" problems. Set up systems and storage in dozens of cities for every type of production you can imagine. But I've mostly kept that knowledge to myself and our clients. That's changing and here's why. Too many productions treat post-production infrastructure like renting tables and chairs. You need equipment? Here's a price list. Pick what you want. But that's not how it really works. The difference between a production that runs smoothly and one that's constantly fighting technical problems isn't the equipment. It's understanding how all the pieces work together. It's knowing that a Mac Studio is only as good as the storage feeding it. It's recognizing that what works in your LA office won't work the same way in Atlanta. At Atlas Digital, we're not an equipment rental company. We're a technology partner. We're the people who think about your workflow before you even know you have a problem. We're the ones mapping out bandwidth requirements, storage architecture, and redundancy strategies while you're focused on the creative work. And honestly? I think it's time I started sharing more of what we've learned, so over the next few weeks, I'm going to be posting about real problems we've solved, why certain technical decisions matter more than others, what we're seeing across different types of productions in different cities and the questions you should be asking before you even get started. Not to sell or rent you anything. But because after all the years of watching talented people compromise their vision because of technical and perceived budget limitations, I want to explain how we've been able to bring new ideas to the table that really make a difference.

  • Big congratulations to Bob Ducsay, Dan Zimmerman, and Stephen Mirrione on their ACE Eddie Award nominations: Stephen Mirrione, ACE, F1 Dan Zimmerman, ACE, Thursday Murder Club Bob Ducsay, ACE, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery Atlas was proud to support the post teams behind these films.
