Metropolis Technologies secures $1.6 billion to accelerate AI-powered real-world infrastructure. Read More - https://lnkd.in/dySVBDzg The funding includes a $1.1 billion Term Loan B arranged by JPMorganChase Bank and a $500 million Series D round led by a fund managed by LionTree, valuing Metropolis at approximately $5 billion. The investment will support expansion into new markets and verticals as the company scales its AI-driven recognition platform. “With this new capital, we're continuing to scale our platform and forge the foundation of the Recognition Economy, building a new paradigm for how AI is deployed in the real world,” said Alex Israel, CEO and Co-founder of Metropolis. “As we deploy our technology into retail, hospitality and fueling, Metropolis will go beyond just processing transactions by embedding speed and simplicity into everyday experiences.” Following the acquisitions of SP+ and AI biometrics pioneer Oosto, Metropolis now processes more than $5 billion in annual transaction volume across 4,200+ locations and adds over one million new members each month. The company is expanding its AI platform beyond parking into retail, mobility, hospitality, and fueling to create frictionless, personalized customer experiences. “Metropolis is demonstrating that AI can be thoughtfully commercialized at real-world scale,” said Ramin Arani, Head of Investments at LionTree. “We're excited by the Metropolis team's success to date and look forward to supporting the next phase of their growth.” Image Credit - Alex Israel, CEO and Co-founder, Metropolis #Metropolis #ArtificialIntelligence #AppliedAI #RecognitionEconomy #TechNews #Funding #Innovation #SmartInfrastructure #RetailTech #Mobility

Auto Tech Outlook has named Sortera the “Top AI Driven Automotive Metals Recycling Technology 2026”! 🏆 COO Ben Pope noted that traditional recycling systems have historically struggled to differentiate among complex metal variants. This inability to sort cleanly leads to significant value loss and a heavy reliance on exporting materials for manual separation. Sortera’s high-throughput platform changes the game. By treating metal recovery as a data problem, our system analyzes scrap fragments piece-by-piece based on both visual signals and chemical composition. Instead of exporting mixed non-ferrous metals, we are upgrading scrap streams into high-purity, predictable feedstock right here at home—fueling a more sustainable, resilient domestic automotive supply chain. Check out Ben's insights in Auto Tech Outlook - https://lnkd.in/ezVQtGTY #AI #CleanTech #AutomotiveSupplyChain #Recycling #Sustainability #Innovation #SorteraTechnologies

It was great to attend the MACHINA Summit in Paris. It was an honor to share the stage with Peter Elstrom. This was possibly the highest density of robotics leaders assembled. Lukas M. Ziegler did a fantastic job as the Master of Ceremony. It was awesome to catch up with all of you and share perspectives about our growing industry. The dinner was truly something special with leaders like Carolina Parada, Jonathan Hurst, David Reger, Amanda McMaster,Jim Fan, Ali Agha, and David Amar all at one table. A shoutout to everyone in the arena working hard to build the future. I can’t wait to see how this conference grows and will certainly be back next year.

Let’s GOOOO! 🚀 We have officially celebrated the grand opening of our second facility in Lebanon, Tennessee with a ribbon-cutting ceremony! ✂️🎉 What makes this milestone truly special is how we are doing it. We are executing heavy industrial operations on the backbone of true innovation and a highly sophisticated technology platform. By blending advanced, AI-powered sorting tech with industrial-scale execution, we have been actively producing since day one. This new footprint represents a major leap forward in our capacity to deliver high-purity recycled materials at a scale the market has never seen. The energy from our team, local officials, community, partners, customers, and esteemed guests in attendance was unmatched, proving that Lebanon will be an exciting next chapter of growth. An investor who bought into Apptronik in 2019 paid a $15 million valuation. The company is worth $5.5 billion today, a 367x mark in seven years, and not one share has traded on a public exchange. The round that set the new number tells you why the humanoid category is being priced the way it is: - Apptronik closed a $935 million Series A, the largest early-stage round in robotics history, at a $5.5 billion valuation. - Google selected the Apollo robot as primary hardware for its Gemini Robotics program. - Mercedes-Benz, GXO Logistics, and Jabil already deploy Apollo on factory and warehouse floors, with John Deere and the Qatar Investment Authority joining the cap table. - Reported commercial demand runs to roughly $1 billion. In 2019, a general-purpose humanoid robot sounded close to impossible, and the $15 million entry price reflected exactly that doubt. The steepest returns in any frontier category are earned in the years when the idea still sounds unreasonable, and they accrue almost entirely to whoever holds private shares before the market agrees. By the time a company like this reaches an exchange, the 333x has already happened, and the people who captured it were early, private, and patient.

Our market rate data is incredibly valuable and helps drive decisions throughout the industry when it comes to pricing and benchmarking Mexico freight. Don't price blind. Don't blast carriers via WhatsApp just to run a spot quote. Get Cargado.

It's a good week to move more Mexico and Canada freight! And it's never been easier to quote with confidence using Cargado's Market Rates tool. We know, Mexico pricing gets dangerous when teams treat rate data like a trivia answer. (We've all been there! 😅) The better model is diagnosing what’s normal for this move, what’s the spread, and how confident are we? That’s the idea behind Cargado Market Rates. → powered by real carrier bids in our marketplace → delivered as low / mid / high pricing bands → built to support 3 workflows: benchmarking, spot quoting, and RFP pricing at scale The takeaway is that market rates shouldn’t be something you “check.” They should be the backbone of your pricing system. Learn more about how lthe best logistics providers price Mexico freight in 2026 ➤➤ https://lnkd.in/emiQB5Q3 #marketrates #marketintelligence #freightrates #logistics #freight #crossborderlogistics
