Empowering young people to make change through creativity, for themselves and their communities.
About us
We run programmes and projects that pave the way for work in the creative, cultural and heritage sectors. We give young people the means to make an impact in their communities, amplifying their voices and helping them find creative solutions. We provide placements that could unlock creative careers they might never have imagined – and much more. Why? Because if you dream of changing your life, or other people’s lives, for the better, we don’t think your background or circumstances should stand in your way. Given the space and opportunities, young people's creativity could shape the future.

A wonderful listen (we're bias, we know)! Our Co-CEO Annabel Cook and member of our youth board Evelyn Cowhig chatted to Joe Mcloughlin on the Let's Go Further Podcast about the power of creativity to build confidence and develop skills. We know just how important youth voice and creativity is in creating a better world and we hope that in listening to this podcast, it can open many other people's eyes. Give it a listen and please share ♻️ if it resonates with your peers.
What do we lose when creativity is squeezed out of education? 🎙️🎨 In Episode 3 of Let's Go Further, we explore how creativity can help young people build confidence, develop real-world skills and discover new opportunities. Joe Mcloughlin is joined by Annabel Cook, Co-Chief Executive of Artswork Limited and Evelyn Cowhig, a member of Artswork's Youth Board, to discuss the importance of youth voice, accessible creative spaces and the growing need to recognise learning beyond traditional qualifications. From employability and wellbeing to inclusion and belonging, this episode shines a light on how creativity helps young people unlock their potential and shape the world around them. Because when young people feel empowered, amazing things happen. 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/eZcMxA6Y #LetsGoFurther #Podcast #Arts

We asked one of our Breakthrough trainees from last year to share their experience with us. They mentioned that the placement went so well they've been offered a six-month extension to continue working with the team, and they're excited to take on more video projects going forward, alongside their admin work. They also spoke about why the programme matters to them: arts opportunities are so often centralised in big cities like London, leaving smaller towns and close-knit communities without the same access. Breakthrough changes that, giving people the chance to get involved in the arts without uprooting their lives, and bringing visibility to different perspectives and communities that might otherwise be overlooked. Breakthrough 26/27 applications are now open. Please tag or share with someone you think would benefit. https://lnkd.in/e-eM9yrV Deadline for applications is 27 July 2026.
