One-Word Story is a simple collaborative strategy where students build a narrative together, one word or phrase at a time. It only works when every student is actually tracking every word, which makes active listening a creative (and academic!) skill without anyone having to lecture about it. Swipe through for the full breakdown, including cross-curricular applications and a two-level format for different grade bands. Worth saving.

Most comprehension strategies keep students outside the story but Narrative Pantomime puts them in it. The teacher narrates while students physically inhabit the character's experience - silently, in their own space, with no scripts. Content retention, empathy, and engagement all build at the same time, across every grade level. Swipe through for the step-by-step breakdown and cross-curricular applications across five subject areas. Definitely worth saving for your next planning session.

We're proud to announce that our illustrious CEO, Sally Baker, will be keynoting the Early STEAM Summer Symposium: The Role of the Arts in Early STEAM, taking place at the end of June. Sally's work at the Institute for Arts Integration and STEAM sits right at the intersection of creative practice and early learning, making her a natural fit to anchor this conversation for early childhood educators and school leaders. If you work with young learners and care about building a stronger bridge between the arts and STEAM, keep an eye on this event. #ArtsIntegration #STEAMEducation #EarlyLearning #EarlyChildhoodEducation #ProfessionalDevelopment

One of the most telling moments in a classroom is when a student has to defend a creative choice in front of their peers. Concept Playlist at your service. In this creative strategy, students curate a short playlist for a concept they're studying and justify every song choice. In a format students actually want to engage with. That's a win-win in our books!

One of the most telling moments in a classroom is when a student has to defend a creative choice in front of their peers. Concept Playlist builds exactly that: students curate a short playlist for a concept they're studying and justify every song choice. The justification is where the analysis happens: tone, theme, subtext, evidence-based reasoning. All of it, in a format students actually want to engage with.
