Today we’re sharing that Anthill has been acquired by Humanly (humanly.io). When we started Anthill in 2020, we had a simple belief: the frontline workforce deserved better tools — not just to do their jobs, but to feel informed, supported, and connected at work. Over the past few years, we’ve had the privilege of building toward that vision alongside incredible people. I’m deeply grateful to my co-founders, Young-Jae Kim and Laura Silvester — building this with you has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. To our team — past and present — thank you for your creativity, resilience, and commitment to doing work that matters. You built something real. To our investors and advisors — thank you for believing in us early, and for your steady guidance along the way. To our customers — thank you for trusting us with such an important part of your operations and your people. And most importantly, to the frontline workers and managers who use Anthill every day — you are the “why” behind what we built. Your work is often invisible, but it is essential, and it deserves better support. We’re incredibly excited about what this next chapter makes possible. I first met Humanly co-founders Prem Kumar and Andrew Gardner years ago, and even then it was clear that our visions for what’s possible for frontline workers were deeply aligned. The Humanly team shares our belief that hiring is just the beginning — and that technology should support people not just getting into jobs, but succeeding in them. This makes Anthill joining their broader mission feel like a very natural next step. From our earliest conversations, it was clear they have a deep commitment to building thoughtful, practical AI that improves real outcomes for both employers and workers. I’m genuinely excited to see what we can build together from here and how this work continues to grow. Proud of what we built. Grateful for everyone who made it possible. And feeling a lot of excitement for what comes next. https://lnkd.in/gBvaVRyD

  • Today, we’re excited to share that Anthill is joining Humanly. From the beginning, our mission has been to help frontline teams stay connected, supported, and empowered, and to give managers the tools they need to engage their people in real time better. As we’ve grown, one thing has become clear: the employee experience starts well before day one. By joining Humanly (humanly.io), we have an opportunity to connect hiring and post-hire engagement into one continuous journey, helping organizations not only bring in the right people but support them to succeed. We’re incredibly proud of what our team has built and grateful to our customers and partners who have been part of this journey. We’re excited for this next chapter and what we’ll build together with the Humanly team. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gfftGh2i

So proud to see Laura Silvester recognized as part of Vancouver’s 40 Under 40! Laura, I’ve admired you since we first met back in 2015. Your leadership, integrity, and impact have always stood out, and getting to work alongside you at Anthill is a privilege I will always value. This recognition is a reflection of the thoughtfulness, drive, and care you bring to everything you do. Vancouver is lucky to have you, and I’m grateful to call you a colleague and friend. Congratulations, Laura! Well deserved.

Last week, it was a joy to join fellow recipients of this year's Business in Vancouver's Forty under 40 Award at a gathering reception. It's humbling to be part of this diverse group: from arts & culture leaders to entrepreneurs to not-for-profit executives and many more. Thank you to BIV News, Lara Graham, and team for hosting a great event and supporting this program. Same to the sponsors and the selection committee - these programs don't happen without your support. And a special, big thank you to those who nominated me for this recognition. It is deeply meaningful that the people who know me well put me forward for this honour - thank you. I had the opportunity to speak at the Singularity University Executive Program at Stanford University last month on a topic I care deeply about: the overlooked future of work. Our ability to design work that is human-centered and augmented by thoughtful AI will determine whether organizations thrive in the decade ahead. We explored: ·     Why labor scarcity—not automation—is the defining force shaping the future ·     How the value of deskless workers is often overlooked ·     Why the next era of AI is not about replacing people, but removing the barriers that prevent them from participating fully in opportunity. I’m grateful to Singularity University for bringing together such curious, future-focused leaders—and for creating space to rethink how we build a future of work that unlocks opportunity for everyone. Always fun to see Stephanie Papaioanu's beautiful murals summarizing the talk.

Awesome to see the feedback from Misha Byrne on Anthill Co-founder and CEO Muriel Clauson Closs, PhD's talk about the demographic reality we face in the world of frontline work. The headlines focus on concerns that AI may replace human jobs, but seem to miss the story of what's happening on the frontlines: the demand for frontline workers is still projected to outpace the supply. We see that technology can help us all prepare for that future. #futureofwork #frontline

“Augmentation is a better business decision than automation.” Really enjoying listening to Muriel Clauson Closs, PhD with her evidence-based take on one of the biggest fears surrounding AI: net job loss. The data so far tells a different story. Companies investing in automation technologies aren’t shrinking their workforces - they’re growing them. And the bigger challenge on the horizon? It’s not job displacement. It’s talent scarcity. In most developed countries, we won’t have enough new workers entering the workforce to replace those retiring - let alone fill the additional roles being created over the next decade. As Muriel put it: “What we'll need is needs-based augmentation. We’re in a really interesting era of work where the question is less ‘how can I replace jobs with AI?’ and more ‘how can I innovate to prepare my workforce for a shortage of people?’” AI won’t just shape the future of work. Demographics will too. #futureofwork #aiandwork #augmentationnotautomation #workforcedevelopment #demographics #leadershipthinking #humanpotential Singularity University

Love listening to Anthill CEO Muriel share her expertise on the deskless workforce with Steve Hunt in his podcast episode. I have long admired Steve Hunt's thoughtful approach to HR tech and the world of work so this was cool to see! CEO of organizations that employ a deskless workforce (ie the majority of workers out there), HR leaders or anyone interested in the future of work - this is a great listen. Link in original post

Using #HRtechnology to support frontline, deskless workers - that's the topic we discuss with Muriel Clauson Closs, PhD in this week's featured episode of Integrate or Die. Muriel shares some great insights on how to more effectively support and leverage the talents of what is the largest and most essential part of the workforce.
