Help make a difference when youth need it most. Join the Allegheny County Office of Behavioral Health's Youth Crisis Intervention Team (Youth CIT) Training, hosted at the AIU on August 6, 7, 10, 11, and 12. Designed for law enforcement officers, school safety personnel, and school support staff, this training equips participants with practical strategies to recognize mental health concerns, de-escalate behavioral health crises, and connect youth with the supports they need. The program also strengthens collaboration between schools, law enforcement, behavioral health providers, and community partners to create safer, more supportive school environments. School safety starts with strong leadership. The AIU is proud to host the NASRO Supervisors and Management Course on August 3-5. This three-day course is designed for police supervisors and school administrators responsible for implementing, supervising, managing, and evaluating School Resource Officer (SRO) and School Police Officer (SPO) programs. Participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to build, coordinate, and sustain effective school-based policing programs through stronger partnerships between schools and law enforcement. Whether you're new to supervising an SRO program or an experienced leader, this course provides practical guidance for developing successful programs that enhance school safety and strengthen school communities. The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is excited to host NASRO Supervisors and Management on August 3rd through 5th and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit Central office. Registration for the course closes on July 15. This course is appropriate for administrators and school-based law enforcement responsible for the leadership of SRO/SPO programs. SRO Supervisors and Management course is for police supervisors and school administrators who have the responsibility of implementing, supervising, managing, and evaluating school-based police officers and/or programs. The goal is to provide managers with information, skills, and strategies to develop, coordinate, and maintain a successful SRO program in their school communities.
