Starting from an existing house with many enclosed walls, the design was shaped around how Carissa Springett actually lives—spending most of her time in the kitchen and walk-in closet.
The first floor was opened up by removing partitions, allowing the kitchen, island, and dining area to flow together as one continuous space—bringing in more natural light, better ventilation, and a more comfortable way of living. While the space feels open, each area still keeps a sense of privacy through subtle level changes, with a mezzanine that visually connects back to the first floor.
On the third floor, a bedroom and bathroom were removed to expand the walk-in closet, creating a more spacious and practical area that fits seamlessly into her everyday life.
