  • It’s truly inspiring to see Ami Hobday, our Director of Operations, sharing her journey into care. Her passion for making a difference shines through in everything she does. We’re grateful to have leaders like her who bring authenticity and heart to our team. These honest journeys remind us all why we’re in this field — because genuine care is at the core of what we do. ❤️🤝 #A1Care #LeadershipInCare #CareWithHeart #HealthAndSocialCare #ProudOfOurTeam #PeopleFirst #CareProfessionals

Great care is hard to spot in a CV, but impossible to miss in a conversation. I've been spending more time speaking directly with candidates this month, and it's been the best reminder of why timing matters in care recruitment. The difference between a good care worker and an exceptional one isn't in their qualifications. It's in the way they talk about the work. It's the carer who remembers why they started (usually a personal story, often a family member). Who lights up describing the small moments. Getting someone to smile again, or finally figuring out what makes a resident feel safe. Who asks questions about the people they'll be supporting before they ask about the rota. You hear it within minutes. My conversation with Ami Hobday reminded me of this. Ami started as a care worker and has worked her way up to Director of Operations. When she talks about care, there's something unmistakable in how she describes the work. Not transactional, deeply human. The kind of leader every care organisation wishes they had. The tricky part? These candidates don't stay available long. Not because they're applying everywhere, but because someone else calls them first. Every hour that passes between application and phone call, you're rolling the dice. The carers who are driven by genuine compassion are the same people other organisations want. They're evaluating you based on how quickly you recognise what they bring. This isn't about rushing your process. It's about respecting that the person on the other end of that application might be exactly who your residents need. And they deserve to hear from you whilst they're still considering their options.

🎉 What a wonderful day celebrating the official opening of our new A1 Care branch in Lisburn. We are proud to be bringing A1 Care’s services to Northern Ireland and to begin supporting people and families locally to remain safe, independent and well in their own homes 🏡🤍 ✂ 🎀 We were honoured to welcome Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly BL MLA, who officially opened our Lisburn branch. We were grateful for her time, her very kind words, and her strong recognition of the vital role home care providers and care professionals play across Northern Ireland. 💬 We also valued the opportunity to speak with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, including Ms Mairead Harkin, and Mr Declan McAllister, as part of wider conversations on the opportunities and challenges around the use of technology in social care. These discussions highlighted the importance of exploring innovation thoughtfully — supporting the workforce and enhancing care delivery, while always keeping people and relationships at the heart of what we do. 🎤 A sincere thank you to our guest speakers who contributed so meaningfully to the day: 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗘𝗰𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀, for sharing a grounded and compassionate healthcare perspective and for openly acknowledging the pressures being felt across the system. 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗻 from Steer Training Academy, for reinforcing the importance of high-quality training, collaboration, and clear career pathways within social care, and how these align with the Care in Practice Framework. 👏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success — especially our Registered Manager Sorina Puscas and Deputy Care Manager Tiffany McClure for leading such a strong local launch. 🤝 Our thanks also go to our head office team — Mark Piper Assoc CIPD Business Developer Manager, Ami Hobday Director of Operations and Responsible Individual, and our CEO Sergiu Calauz — for their continued leadership, guidance, and support as we establish and grow our services in Northern Ireland. We look forward to building trusted relationships across the sector as A1 Care Lisburn grows 🌱 #CareAtHome, #HealthAndSocialCare, #HomeCareServices, #QualityCare, #CareLeadership, #CommunityCare, #CareTechnology, #DigitalHealth, #InnovationInCare
