We use civic crowdfunding to build vibrant communities, connecting changemakers with funding partners.

About us

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead. We use civic crowdfunding to build vibrant communities, connecting changemakers with funding partners to support community-led projects. We believe that community members are patrons in the city, supporting the growth, development, and vibrancy of the places they live. Our vision is to revolutionize development by democratizing the funding and implementation process, to transform communities by harnessing the power of crowdfunding and crowdgranting, and to empower changemakers to create sustainable, healthy, and equitable communities. With a high success rate and 10 years of experience, we can help you get the funding and support you need to turn your vision into reality and transform your community. Our team is here to help every step of the way. We provide one-on-one project coaching and placemaking consulting to ensure project success. #CivicCrowdfunding #Crowdfunding #Placemaking #SmallBusiness #Sustainability

  • At Patronicity, we believe that passionate individuals can spur change in their communities. We refer to those individuals as Patrons in the City. This week, we're celebrating Brandon Query, who ran the Lost River Co-op and Cafe Farms to Friends Farm Stand campaign. Because of the work of Orange County Food Trust, and supported by a matching grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) CreatINg Places program, southern Indiana is breaking down barriers that prevent access to healthy, fresh, locally-grown produce. The mobile farm stand tours around Orange County, IN and the surrounds, bringing nutritious vegetables and meals to farmers markets, health clinics, senior centers, food pantries, and more throughout the growing season, reducing food insecurity strains for locals. We spoke with Brandon to learn more about how nurturing a simple idea can combat complex battles. Read the full interview on Patronicity Resources 🥕 https://lnkd.in/e69PZ7GN

  • This is the FINAL DAY to get your page live and participate in the Lighter, Quicker Cheaper Challenge, a grant opportunity to win up to $5,000 for your community-improvement project! Our 2024 winner, Jade James-Gist from AboutFaceDetroit, shared what the experience meant to her: "Patronicity helped us turn community excitement into real impact. The LQC Challenge made our project achievable, and the support empowered our neighbors to invest in a cleaner, more welcoming East Village. And helped us engage with even more residents and supporters than we would have otherwise with what turned out to be a really exciting campaign for our community." Only one project will win-- will it be yours? Get started now: https://buff.ly/e69Ney2

  • Our web development team has a very exciting new feature to share: a built-in QR Code Generator, right on your campaign page! 🤸 QR Codes are a fantastic way to bridge the gap between in-person outreach and online websites. Pop it on your flyers and promotional materials, making it super quick and easy for your patrons to scan the image and get to your page. Check it out now in the Elevate section of your page! Reach out to your coach if you have any questions on accessing and using the generator.

  • We recently chatted with Ian Helman and Nate Laakonen of the Hancock Trails Club in Michigan to learn more about their Creekside Trailhead and Bike Park project, supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation's Public Spaces Community Places program. Ian and Nate both have day jobs, families, and busy lives, but they channeled their passion for mountain biking to create a wonderful park for friends and family to gather and share the hobby. With a vision, commitment, and the support of their community, Ian and Nate have sparked lasting change for Hancock. Learn more about how they managed their crowdfunding campaign and turned a hobby into a community-building space in our full interview on Patronicity Resources 🚲 https://lnkd.in/e_9YjErz The park will celebrate a grand opening SOON-- keep your eyes peeled on their Facebook page: Hancock Trails Club!

  • In partnership with Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Public Spaces Community Places program has officially granted over $15M to more than 400 projects across Michigan! This milestone is only possible because of the nearly 78,000 patrons that have supported community development projects throughout the state over the last 12 years. From pocket parks to art galleries to mural festivals, it's clear Michiganders are passionate about building vibrant communities. Featured Project: City Square Park, City of Fennville

  • We had an absolute blast last week at Project for Public Spaces International Placemaking Week in Detroit. We sat in on some amazing sessions, met movers and shakers (like Sue, who worked on one of our very first campaigns in 2014!), and celebrated our hometown's best spaces. Patronicity President & Co-Founder Ebrahim also joined a panel on Friday to talk about how crowdfunding utilizes the community as a review committee. Tell us your favorite #PlacemakingWeek moments! 👇️
