About us

247Solar, an MIT spin-out, is commercializing an innovative solution for clean, industrial process heat and baseload renewable energy. We reduce customers’ costs and carbon emissions in some of the fastest growing decarbonization markets: mines, industrial CHP, data centers, and green hydrogen. The Company finances, owns, builds, and operates its projects through SPVs to deliver zero/low-carbon heat and electricity, 24 hours a day, on a PPA basis. Modular, scalable, and factory-produced, 247Solar solutions fulfill the promise of round-the-clock renewables for uninterrupted, highly reliable clean energy. More than $24 million has been invested in 247Solar technology to date, including $6 million from the US Department of Energy. The Company is currently undertaking a Series B capital raise of $25 million. Near term project pipeline totals more than $200 million.

    Solar PV and batteries can meet about 97% of power demand, but the remaining 3% still requires backup, and the cost of closing the gap is uneconomically high. But what if a solar system could also burn fuel on site? Suddenly the 3 percent gap is covered in a capital-efficient and highly flexible way. A hybrid approach incorporating our solar thermal technology can fill the gap completely to provide genuinely firm power around the clock, with on-site fuel storage as the only added cost.

  • We’re pleased to welcome Ruby Habib to the newly created position of VP Procurement. Based in Irvine, California, Ruby brings over 20 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management across aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing industries. With both a B.Sc degree and strong background in Mechanical Engineering, he has led end-to-end procurement operations, developed supplier strategies, negotiated complex contracts, and supported new product introductions in highly regulated environments. Ruby has worked with organizations such as Flowserve, Mitsubishi Power, and ABB, focusing on driving cost efficiencies, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring operational excellence. In his most recent role as Division Sourcing & Procurement Manager, Ruby managed critical supply chains, supported engineering teams, and improved procurement processes aligned with business goals.     Stop pretending: Solar + batteries ≠ 24/7 firm power. From a four-decade solar veteran... Did I get your attention? Bruce Anderson hopes so. He is the founder and CEO of 247Solar, Inc, an MIT-linked spinout, and has worked in solar for more than 40 years. He completed his MIT master’s thesis on solar energy in 1973 and later authored early solar books, including "The Solar Home Book." 247Solar is a zero-carbon technology company focused on modular concentrated solar systems that provide round-the-clock clean power and industrial-grade heat using thermal storage and factory-produced components. Here are some of his insights from the podcast: 1. Don’t claim 24/7 if you can’t handle intermittency. Baseload is not just PV + batteries. If your system fails when the sun disappears and storage runs out, buyers will see through it. 2. Keep the magic narrow. Buy the rest off the shelf. Reinventing every component is not genius; it is an expensive death march. 3. Pick a beachhead, not a buffet. Start with customers who feel the pain most and need exactly what you built, not everyone with an energy bill. 4. Customers buy risk reduction, not elegance. Reliability, fallback options, modularity, and financing matter more than how clever your tech sounds. Even if you went to MIT. 5. Headcount is not a flex.
