  • Texas is one of the most dynamic energy markets in the country and medium and large commercial customers can supercharge their energy contract with a one-two punch: restructuring energy contracts + demand response. With demand response your organization gets paid to flex load during peak grid events. Adding new or existing backup generation will plus up savings even more. If you manage energy or facilities for a Texas operation (50kW–200MW load), these two alone can move the needle on your bottom line. Let's talk. #ERCOT #EnergyProcurement #DemandResponse #Texas #CommercialEnergy #TIPS

These are eye-popping numbers. 👀 Utilities requested $9.2 billion in rate increases in Q2 2026 alone—driven by grid modernization, data-center growth and record electricity demand. For commercial and industrial customers, most of that cost increase will mean higher demand charges. Are you controlling your demand charges? ZeroEnergy helps organizations get ahead of these increases by managing peak demand, improving energy procurement and evaluating onsite generation, storage and other strategies that turn energy from an unavoidable expense into a controllable business cost. ZeroEnergy ’s COO, Kate R. Sherwood will be speaking at the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) this month, and if you work in public sector energy, this one is worth your time. Kate will be presenting on the Texas Backup Power Package Program (TBPP), walking through what it means for local governments looking to strengthen their energy resilience and reduce risk during extreme weather conditions. Energy resilience isn't a nice-to-have anymore, and Kate has spent years helping public sector clients understand their options and build strategies that actually hold up when it matters most. 📍San Antonio, TX July 23, 2026 10:00am - 12:00pm Connect with Kate R. Commercial customers can generate revenues with battery storage during peak grid demand. A 500kW system is $1,250 in revenues in just one hour at a rate of $2,500 per MWh. Recently, PJM's peak demand reached 166,147 MW, surpassing the previous all-time record. Heat indices rose to 110°F in New York City, 112°F in Philadelphia, and 113°F in D.C., prompting the U.S. DOE to issue emergency orders. These occurrences underscore a critical reality: simply adding more generation capacity is not the sole solution. Enhancing demand flexibility is equally essential. Commercial battery energy storage systems can contribute by: 🔋 Reducing peak demand during times of maximum grid stress. 🔋 Participating in demand response and other grid-support programs. 🔋 Providing backup power for essential operations during grid disturbances. 🔋 Shifting energy usage away from the most costly hours lowering operating costs and enhancing resilience. As electricity demand continues to escalate due to electrification and data centers, batteries are transitioning from being merely a resilience investment to becoming an operational asset that offers value daily—not just during outages. Contact ZeroEnergy to regain control over energy costs and revenues. #BatteryStorage #EnergyStorage #GridReliability #DemandResponse #Resilience #PJM

  • School's out for the summer, but have you checked your energy report card? You can end up paying high demand charges for months when you set your peak during the summer. Cooling buildings on hot days when there is low occupancy can be an energy vampire that causes bills to be higher than expected. This is manageable. ZeroEnergy Founder and CEO, Pam Maines puts it plainly: "If your energy contract hasn't been reviewed recently, you're probably paying more than you should be." Our team advises public sector clients through TIPS (The Interlocal Purchasing System) cooperative purchasing to lower energy rates and demand charges, no lengthy RFP required. • Your facility’s backup generator installed for "just in case" can work harder for you.   Between rising demand charges and grid reliability issues, a lot of our clients are realizing their on-site resources aren't optimized for cost savings or revenues.   Solar, storage, and backup gen working together is a whole different story. It changes what you pull from the grid and when.   Curious what that could look like for your portfolio?   Visit us at www.zeroenergyservices.com #demandcharges #gridreliability #backupgeneration #energyportfolio
