Founder, CEO of Snowtide Informatics Systems, Inc.

I founded Snowtide Informatics in 2001, which now sells PDFTextStream, an enterprise-class Java, .NET, and Python library specializing in the extraction of text and other content from PDF documents. PDFTextStream has found significant success in the marketplace, and I continue to push towards making it the gold standard in its niche.
I have a deep background in software development and computer science. My professional work has always been related to shoehorning 'intelligent' behaviour into software that can do real work.
Looking ahead, my interests and responsibilities are shifting towards software as a service (SaaS), business development, and finance within the context of a growing, bootstrapped software company.
Automated extraction of content and data from unstructured documents; document management in general; legal case management; financial data analysis; adaptive systems; neural networks; genetic programming; functional programming; rule-based systems.
